Spa etiquette: 10 simple tips
Phones, talking, pressure and timing: small things that make a spa visit better.

There are no strict rules at a spa. But a few small things make your visit nicer, for you and for others.
Before your massage
- Come 10 minutes early, so your massage starts on time.
- Tell your therapist about any injury, pain, pregnancy or allergy.
- Take a shower first, or use the shower at the spa.
- Put your phone on silent.
- Eat lightly before you come.
During your massage
- Undress only as much as you are comfortable with. You stay covered with a sheet.
- Say if you want more or less pressure. Your therapist can't feel what you feel.
- You don't have to talk. It is fine to rest quietly or even fall asleep.
After your massage
- Get up slowly and drink some water.
- If you need to cancel, tell us at least 24 hours before. Late cancellations may have a fee. See our terms.
